Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-200-JP is to be contained in a low-risk item storage vault with a desiccative. SCP-200-JP is to be kept dry outside of testing as the activation is caused when it gets wet. Considering the possibility of accident by mistakes such as incomplete wiping, personnel are encouraged to pick SCP-200-JP up with fingers when transporting it.
Description: SCP-200-JP is a typical "Rubber Duck" toy. While it emits a short or long sound when squeezed, the lengths of sounds seem to not be related to the manner how it is treated. Its manufacturing company and production factory were identified, and concluded to be non-anomalous; no similar object has been found from production line of said factory.
SCP-200-JP activates whenever it gets wet by water. If a human exists within 10cm radius and 5m below while the activation state, SCP-200-JP rapidly increases its weight. Testing by a D-Class personnel proved that SCP-200-JP's weight increasing continues as long as a human exists under it; SCP-200-JP gained its weight to 420kg within 3 seconds, and returned to its original weight shortly after the resulting death of D-Class. Based on this, it is theorized that SCP-200-JP is not responsive to corpse.
SCP-200-JP was recovered from a bathroom of housing complex, located in the city of █████████; the owner claimed he found this object on the riverside. As the owner injured his pelvis, he and his guardians were administered amnesiacs and planted false memories about falling accident at the bathroom.
Addendum: Initially, this anomaly was intended to be classified to Anomalous Item; however, it was eventually designated as a Safe-Class object after Test 8941-07 was carried out.
Test Log 8941-07 - 20██/██/██
Subject: A rubber duck (Current SCP-200-JP)
Method: Duck is squeezed 200 times for detecting the regularity of sound lengths.
Result: A fixed regularity was found; a combination of short sounds and long sounds can apply to the Wabun morse code. Detected message is as follows.
M Y B O Y I S S T I L L U N D E R T H E W A T E R
Analysis: There is a possibility that this item is sentient, or at least possesses some kind of information. I withdraw the proposal about classification to Anomalous, and request the re-examination of the circumstances of retrieval.
Re-examination by the Foundation couldn't find any new information about the discovery of SCP-200-JP as all involved person were already administered amnesiacs.
